The PTZOptics RS-232 Serial Control Cable 100′ extenders give you the ability to extend your serial/VISCA cables over a longer distance, giving control of your camera via joystick or USB to Serial adapter to your PC with the VISCA software of your choice.
These serial DB9 Male to Female cables are plenum rated and they come in black. PTZOptics was founded in 2014 by a group of engineers from Haverford Systems, Inc established in 1987. PTZOptics is an official registered trademark owned by Haverford Systems incorporated.
When you hook up from your joystick to your camera, you would only need to connect PTZOptics RS-232 Serial Control Cable 100′ to achieve camera control. If you need to control more than one camera from a joystick you would need to daisy chain camera 1 to cam 2.
This would involve a daisy chain cable that will require 5 signal connections to achieve. You can also hook up your camera using rs-485 for control. This is a one way communication that allows the joystick to send commands to the camera, but cannot accept any commands back from the camera.
